Summer Camp 2017

Next year's Explorer Summer Camp will be different to any you've ever been on before and much more exiting! In fact, it promises to be the best Summer Camp youíve ever been on... ever! We donít want to get your hopes up too much, but it is going to be AMAZING!!!

We will be camping at the Beautiful Buitenzorg scout centre in the Netherlands from Saturday 12th to Saturday 19th August. We will be arranging a package with a tour operator called "Venture Abroad" who have worked closely with The Scout Association for many years. The cost will be no more than £350 per person. This will include: return coach journey on a luxury coach, Euro Tunnel crossing, tents (pitched for you!), all camping equipment, hot showers, flush toilets, onsite rep, travel insurance, food and all activities!

Located deep in the heart of the Vuursche Forest, Buitenzorg has been welcoming Scouts and Guides from all over the world since 1949. The friendly and enthusiastic staff run a number of programmes throughout your stay, including workshops, hiking and biking activities, adventure days and many off site excursions such as day trips to Amsterdam, Utrecht and theme parks.

We canít let you know the exact cost yet or exactly what weíll be doing because we will be tailoring it specifically for whoever attends. We will only be running the activities that they want to do. There are many activities available to choose from - too many to fit all into a week. There are a few onsite activities such as: games, high ropes, archery, Geocaching, camp fire, pioneering, cycling and guided walks. There are many offsite activities, travelling via public transport, such as: visiting local towns including Amsterdam, Utrecht, horse riding, kayaking, canoeing, zip wire, theme parks, water parks, swimming, canal cruise, Scout museum, Anne Frankís house, and much more...

Make sure you donít miss out, reply via My.Scout with an initial non- returnable deposit of £40 per Explorer Scout no later than Monday 26th September. If you are even a day late, you will be too late because we have to pay the tour operator to retain our booking the next day! A second deposit of £70 per person will be required by Monday 7th November and the final balance will be required by Monday 29th June. You may pay by installments if you wish to spread the cost Ė

Our preferred payment method is via bank transfer.

You must be under 18 on 10 August to attend. Further details will be announced next month.
